New Gas Tank
I hit a freshly shed semi-truck recap tread and that was
the coup-de-grace for the Corvair's original gas tank. I've done a few temporary
repairs over the years on the tank:
In the above shot, just past the siliconed bolt, you can
see a skillfully applied clump of epoxy. A previous temporary fix (but it
lasted 9 years). The clump is what was knocked loose by the tread.
Below is the new, Woody approved, repop tank:
It's made in Canada...
